The spirit of the Collet

Explore the Story and What’s in it for you

The resort was established in the mid 50′. In 1966, Monique and Jean Vernet bought a studio – or rather, a 40 m² space with four walls, a door, and windows – in the third newly built building.
Their family of six children discovered skiing here, starting with just three lifts. They lived in a caravan for the first two years while Jean transformed the space into a cozy and convenient little corner of paradise. Since then, four generations have enjoyed this place, learning to ski in the winter, snowshoe walks, and hiking in the summer.
Although Monique and Jean have passed away, their legacy lives on. Pierre, one of their sons, and Colin, his nephew, have taken over. We would love to share this special place and its family spirit with friends who appreciate a unique rental experience.

Le Collet d’Allevard

A family ski & summer resort between 1450 and 2200 meters
located between Chambery & Grenoble in Belledonne area

The Collet d’Allevard is a fantastic family ski resort for skiers of all levels, boasting 35 km of skiable terrain, 27 runs (ranging from green to black), off-piste areas, and 11 lifts. We love being able to choose from different slopes to find the best snow and sun, skiing on wide runs or between the trees, and taking breaks in one of the cozy bars and restaurants.
Children feel free to explore and enjoy themselves: the 3 areas are very well maintained and monitored, making it impossible to get lost. After just one day, they will easily find their way back to our home sweet studio, located on the right side of the last run.
And the best part: you can put on and take off your skis right in front of the house.
Same for the 4 snowshoe routes from easy to difficult level. On the other hand, for cross-country skiing, you have to walk a little before reaching the slopes.
At the end of the day, we had some memorable sledding sessions right in front of the house, not to mention the snow baths…

During the summer, you can enjoy beautiful walks starting right from the flat, taking you through forests and hillsides to summits with stunning views of Mont Blanc. I remember finding lots of mushrooms, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, and making the best pies and jams.
The resort also offers a variety of outdoor activities, and you can swim in the lake down the road to Allevard.
After about a half-hour drive toward Les 7 Laux, you’ll find many trails of different levels to explore.

Le Collet des Vernet

A cozy one-room flat of 40 m3 for four-five person with all needed to spend an amazing time together or alone, enjoying mountain food,
wonderful view on Chartreuse and peace.

We love to spend a peaceful evening after a long walk or a day of skiing, enjoying a warm bath, cooking delicious food, preparing a raclette or fondue, or reading a good book while the sun sets over the Chartreuse. The studio is well organized: some can play and laugh at one end without disturbing those who prefer to dive into a comic strip, while someone else cooks without missing the sense of togetherness.
When it’s time to sleep, a couple can use the sofa bed and be isolated by a removable partition, while others can sleep on mattresses placed directly on the floor, according to everyone’s preference.
Although we have been two adults and six children for many years, the studio is best suited for 2 to 5 people.
There is plenty of space to store your belongings in the wardrobe-closet or in the cellar, and there is a dedicated space to dry ski boots and clothes.
This is an ideal space for a retreat from the daily grind and to unwind: the internet connection is limited (depending on your mobile provider) and there is no television.
